Liebster Award 2016 from Richel (of Richel Goes)

The Liebster Award 2016 is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

Liebster Award 2016

I have been nominated by Richel last October 11th, so thanks, Rich! Richel of Richel Goes Places is a 21-year-old software engineer who loves to read books, watch tv series, catch Pokémon, go to concerts, travel, and write. Read all about her journey in life on her blog: www.richelgoes.com.

Moving on, I have actually done this one (or something similar to this one) back when I was still on Tumblr. So basically, I will be answering 11 questions left behind by the one who nominated me, then make 11 questions of my own and nominate my own set of bloggers.

Okay, here goes...

  1. In 140 characters or less, why do you blog?
I blog because I can express myself more through words, hoping that I can, at least, inspire someone through them. That's it :D
  2. How big of an impact does social media have on you personally?
I'm not gonna lie, I am addicted to Twitter and Instagram, and Facebook when I was in college (not so much now). I can't live through one day without having to open either one of these applications and I think the impact they have on my everyday life is huge. I always, always tweet at least once a day and I plan out the photos I'm going to upload on Instagram. My whole IG feed is curated by an OC who cannot stand having a photo out of place. And I look to Twitter and Facebook for news and current events rather than watching them on TV. So yeah, without social media, I don't know what I will be doing today, haha!
  3. If you could only have one social media account, what would it be? (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
OHMYGOD, uhm, Twitstagram? HAHA! Please don't let me choose one, it's so hard.
  4. If you could get one person to follow/friend/subscribe to you on social media, who would it be?
Most definitely Taylor Swift. I really want to get close and know her better. ^_^ #swiftie
  5. What’s the longest time you’ve been without connection to the internet this year?
Uhm, I think a day or two? I'm really grateful that we already have data connections because I can access the internet 24/7 these days.
  6. If you’ll be given an all-expenses paid trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would definitely go and explore Europe! Who wouldn't want to go there? I mean, with all the scenic countryside views, the majestic castles they have, the food, and their culture? It would be a dream come true for me. ^_^
  7. If you could only bring one person along with you on that trip, who would it be and why?
I'm torn between my best friend and my boyfriend, haha. :) We love traveling to new places, I think we'd really enjoy the trip because we have wanderlust!
  8. If you were given the option to stay in that place for the rest of your life, would you take it or would you rather go back home after the trip?
Oh my god, I'd live there! If there would be any chances of this happening, I'd gladly accept it with arms wide open, I mean come on, who would turn this opportunity down? Living in a foreign country can be hard at first but I can only think of all the positive things from it. I can always visit home even if I lived there, right?
  9. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever experienced?
I can't remember any :3 I've been stuck thinking about this for an hour, and I got nothing. Haha
  10. What’s the happiest memory you can remember?
I think the happiest moment in my life was when it finally sunk into me that I passed the Metallurgical Engineering Board Exam last October 2015. I was crying and laughing and thanking the Lord all at the same time, the feeling was surreal. I still can't believe how good the Lord is to me. ❤️
  11. We often forgot to be proud of ourselves. On the top of your head, can you give me 7 things about yourself or things you have done that had made you proud? What are they?
    (1) Graduated college with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in a span of 5 and a half years.
    (2) Sang in front of a large crowd. I usually just sing on karaoke bars, but when I had the opportunity to perform at school events, well, it's a really great experience. #achievementunlocked
    (3) When I decided to transfer to Blogger and learned all about its perks by myself, with Google's help of course. :D Codes are easy on Tumblr but they became confusing here!
    (4) When I started earning my own money and began giving back to my parents. It feels so good every time I do it. I am finally helping out my mom will all the expenses at home. ^_^
    (5) When I found myself an online job and earned some money so that I can buy a new phone. This happened last year when I was reviewing for the board exam. I needed to include this one here because I really am proud of myself with what I did. My old phone by then was broken and I was just borrowing my cousin's so I have a phone to use. I couldn't ask my parents for money because we were just barely making both ends meet, so I figured I needed to get the money myself. :)
    (6) Faced my fear of trying something new. Like accepting this job I have now even if it means I have to move miles away from my family and only getting to see them once in every 6 weeks. I mean, I'm used to be away from them from time to time because I lived in a dormitory when I was in college and I only get to go home twice or thrice a month, but being away from them for work is different in a whole new level. I can't go home whenever I want to and when homesickness struck me, it can just really get sad and lonely.
    (7) And then of course, when I passed the board exam. That was my greatest achievement in my life, yet. :D
Here's a list of my nominees:

And here are my questions for you, guys:

  1. What made you pursue blogging?
  2. Who is/are your inspiration(s)?
  3. What are your favorite blogs?
  4. Aside from blogging, what are you most passionate about?
  5. Are you exactly where you want to be right now? Or are you still striving to get there?
  6. What is your dream job?
  7. If you could live in any country, where would it be?
  8. What are your pet peeves?
  9. What can't you live without and why?
  10. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
  11. What message would you like to give me? :)

And that's it! :D Thanks again, Rich, for nominating me. I had a lot of fun answering your questions and then making my own set as well. I hope my nominees will accept this one. I can't wait to read your answers!
