Waning's Cafe - Tubod's Tiny Neighborhood Cafe

Quaint little cafes hold a special place in my heart, and I know I haven't shared that sentiment in this space, but I love hanging out at coffee shops—sipping iced drinks, discovering good food, reading a book I brought along, and just simply people-watching. 

I passed by Waning's Cafe too many times before actually going inside to try them out. I had a favorite cafe in the area, and I always frequented there, so I never really gave a chance to any other establishments. It was on a day just after I got a dental checkup that I didn't know where to go next. I didn't want to go home yet, and I wanted to go somewhere new. I found myself curious about this place and resolved to go inside just to see what they offered.

It was a pleasant surprise, I admit. I have been missing out, and I'm so happy I gave this place a chance because now, I have one additional hangout place I can go to when I want to get out of the house.

The cafe has a great assortment of food with affordable prices. Student- and budget-friendly. They have several iced coffee variants, finger foods, burgers, sandwiches, and even ramen. 

Every time I went here, I ordered a different drink because I wanted to try all their coffee flavors just so I could compare them. Verdict is I've tried better. Their iced drinks were bland and watery. I like my coffee strong, you know? Yung kaya akong ipaglaban. But for the price, you really can't complain.

Their ramen is heavy and very filling. I love having an extra egg in it. You can choose between mild or spicy flavor, and I always go for the latter.

The last time I went there, I got their beefy nacho fries, and I loved them. Even though the fries were soggy because of the toppings, the crispy nachos made up for it. I had a wonderful meal and will be going there for more. :)

Ambience-wise, this little coffee corner is relaxing and is a reader's safe space. I love bringing a book or two whenever I hang out at a coffee shop, and their playlist selection is very alternative slow pop. It's a good place to hang out with friends or have some me-time like I always do.
