Life Lately | Three Months in with 2018

Life Lately | Three Months in with 2018

Three months into 2018 and a lot has already happened in my life. I've been so preoccupied lately with a lot of things and my motivation to blog has been totally displaced.

My world has turned upside down ever since I became employed. And what once unlimited, unsupervised, and flexible time I had being a digital nomad, I am now having a kind of difficult time balancing my work life with my social life, family life, love life and my personal me time life.

At first, it was okay. I was still managing my time so well. But then, as I was immersed gradually to the world of my office work, the time demand for my day job has become greater. I'm not complaining though because I'm even happier that I can be of use in the office. As I became more involved with work and as I understood more of what the company is doing, I was taught more skills, hence again the greater workload.

It's tough having to balance everything in a day. I never thought this type of work will eat up all my hours leaving me little to no time at all for the other aspects of my life. I missed writing for myself, I missed blogging, I missed reading books, I missed watching all the Kdramas in the world, and most of all, I missed spending time with my family and friends.

So what have I been up to lately? A lot, actually. I wouldn't want to bore you with every single detail so I've split them up into a few sections. Here's what's new with me:

Getting really busy in my new workplace

Renee's Workmates

I am now working in a government office in Iligan City and it has been going great. I met amazing people in my workplace and I really get along well with them. I can now really say that your colleagues make all the difference in your workplace. Without these great personalities that I've befriended, I wouldn't be liking this job as much as I do. My new work has been very demanding lately and it has really been consuming all of my time. It keeps me busy and sometimes gives me stress, but I'm thankful that it's something I can handle.

Some days are slow, while some days are super tiring, I guess that makes up for all of the busy times. I've learned that working in a government office requires your full commitment to it. And even though I'm still in the adjusting stage, I think I'm doing a pretty good job if I may say so myself.

I still have my online jobs, if you are curious. And it's getting tougher and tougher to balance them alongside my day job. Sometimes I feel so tired when I get home that I don't have the brain cells and enough energy to work on them. This is my constant struggle the past few weeks because I have been traveling back and forth from Iligan to CDO City. The work is easy, it's the land travel that tires the hell out of me. I hope I can still keep this up because I really don't want to let go of my online jobs.

Sticking to a skincare routine that works great for my skin

Renee's current skincare products
A few days back, I shared my most current night time skincare routine on my Instagram Stories and I've gotten a few feedbacks and questions about the products I am using. The products shown in the photo above are what's in my arsenal. It's been a year and a half long journey and I have finally found the products that work on my skin. Remember my Updated Skin Care Routine that I posted late last year? Well, it's updated again and I am hoping the I will have the motivation to post another separate blog post on my most current routine. For now, I wanted to share this with you on this one.

Praise the skincare gods that my breakouts have finally been tamed and reduced. Nowadays, I have lesser breakouts than I had before. My skin is smoother and bouncier and the only problem left to battle now is the acne scars.

My holy grail products are the CosRX AHA Whitehead Power Liquid, the Soon Jung pH 5.5 Relief Toner and the Soon Jung Intensive Barrier Cream. I am also currently using the Heimish All Clean cleansing balm as the first step in double cleansing to remove my make up and then I switched to the Garnier PureActive Anti-Acne White facial foam. I am loving this cleanser after trying out the samples that Watsons gave me a month ago. It cleanses my face without stripping the moisture and I really felt it helping dry out my active pimples.

I can go more and more about the products I am currently using but this discussion should be in another post. So yep, I'm happy with my skin's current state and I will be maintaining this routine for a while. 😊

Spending more time on Steemit

Renee's Steemit

A big reason why I don't post any more stuff on this blog is because of Steemit. I have been investing my time more in that platform because my posts there earn little something compared to this site. I know, I know, it's a shame. But your girl needs some cash to live, too, you know? There was a point in the last months that I've really become obsessed with it especially when I had my first cashout. Oh boy, nothing beats earning money from doing the thing you really love.

If you are curious about how it works, just send me a message. I will be glad to share this growing community with you. 😊

Reading slump no more!

Reading King's Cage

I finally went back to reading books! Recently, I finished King's Cage and now I am on to a new book! Nothing really beats the feeling of finishing a book and getting a hangover from the book world you were just in. I am so excited for the next and hopefully last installment of the Red Queen Series. I really thought King's Cage was the last book until I read the ending. I loved Mare's character in this book better than the last two. She has matured a lot and has become a lot stronger and wiser. She's more understanding and learned how to think before acting.

I am going to start a new book today and it's called The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli. I've heard about this book from Hazel of Stay Bookish and she raved about how good this book was. I just got a paperback copy of this one last month and I am so excited to get to it.

If you'll ask where I will be in the next few days, know that I'll be just in my room after work, reading this book with all my attention. 😁

My first 3 months of 2018 has been really eventful. Life is truly unpredicted and staying true to my words in this post, I will just be going with the flow and wing it. 😉

How are you all today? I've been out and about in social media, only being truly active on Twitter and Instagram. I miss you, blog buddies. I will find time to blog hop and leave comments on your awesome blogs whenever I can.

I'll be ending this post here, until next time guys! 💜
