My First Theme Park: Motiongate Dubai

Motiongate Dubai - Dreamworks

Last Friday, March 8, 2019, my best friends and I went to Motiongate Dubai. It was International Women’s Day and Dubai Parks and Resort gave free admissions to all ladies, and who were we to pass up such an amazing opportunity? So last Friday, we went and braved the crowd to have fun. It was my first theme park and I was giddy with excitement!

We agreed to meet at the train station and from there, we took a taxi to take us to the theme park. It was a sunny day and we were just having fun and we were laughing all the way. After months, it was the first time that I lost my head laughing.

We got a map so that we can plan out where we were going and what we were going to ride first. The park was massive and I just became a child again. We were running and I was gazing through the crowds, feeling blissful to just be there. I wasn't able to take photos of us in the attractions we've gone to because cameras and phones weren't allowed. We kept our stuff in a locker before every ride.

Here I am, trying to imitate Po's pose, haha!

This is the fountain inside Dreamworks.

This is the gang waiting in queue for a roller coaster ride.

This is us again in a queue. We had to wait for more than an hour to ride the attractions because the crowd was insane!

Of course, I didn't miss the chance to take 'grammable photos! I swear every corner in that park was photogenic!

I also got to go to Panem!!! My goodness, my THG heart was overjoyed!

I really had fun that day. It was the first time in a very long time that I was singing and dancing in the shower again. I thought that Renee disappeared for good, but that day, I found myself singing along to the song that was playing when I was taking a bath. And you know what I realized? I realized that I was making progress through this moving on phase because for the very first time in seven months, I felt genuinely happy. I laughed so hard that day, I had tears - that for the first time was not because of sorrow. It had become a new sensation since I haven’t laughed like that since.

I’m going to be okay. I may not be halfway there yet, but I know I’m on my way there. x
